When it comes to working with children, experience can make a big difference! My career in childcare started in an early intervention program, and that position was just the beginning of a wonderful ten years (and counting) as an educator. I have a unique teaching philosophy that really encourages children to explore, and I know how to offer encouragement and gentle redirection when it is needed. The children and I really develop a close relationship, and our environment is truly one of mutual love and respect. What I love most about working with children is welcoming students into such a wonderful space every day, seeing their smiles and joy as they play, and being part of so much learning and growth.
A daycare program should invite kids to explore new things! My home program follows a set daily routine that still leaves plenty of room for creativity and discovery. We are active and busy during our time together– we dance, sing, work on crafts and art projects, and sometimes do worksheets geared toward kindergarten. I love coming up with exciting ways for them to discover and understand new things – for example, learning colors through baking soda/food coloring science experiments. Having fun with peers is also so important – they learn so much from each other. Our play areas, especially the kitchen, are wonderful places for practicing sharing and respect for others. Special activities we all look forward to are festive crafts and songs on holidays – I just love the excited buzz in the classroom as we celebrate together!
My daycare program has a designated area just for the children, with an intentional open layout. Our space is kid-friendly, safe, and clean. I never stop thinking about ways to make my program even better – and right now we are so excited to be redesigning our space to make it more like a traditional classroom – the perfect setting for learning! In my many years as an educator, I have worked with children who have run into challenges and I am always determined to help them overcome obstacles and succeed. Meaningful observation, encouragement, and individual attention really make a big difference – and to see a child who has gone through challenges smiling and laughing in our classroom is just so special and rewarding! It really makes me happy knowing how prepared children are for kindergarten when they ‘graduate’ from my program.

“Every day, through engagement in the arts, our children learn to open their imagination, to dream just a little bigger and to strive every day to reach those dreams.”
~ Michelle ObamaHere’s the inside scoop from other parents that have worked with Ms. Yadira.
Ms. Yaya is the best! She had cared for both of my children and they both adore her. She provides the structure and boundaries that kids need, while also incorporating fun and excitement into the day. She also creates fun learning activities and crafts. Both of my children flourished academically and social-emotionally under her care. In addition, she's great at communicating with parents and working with us to help our children achieve their best potential.
Yadira is a very nurturing individual who cares deeply for children and will meet their needs. A person who is knowledgeable about children’s health from her previous background as she worked with children who suffered from social and special needs. Yadira also worked for the school department as a teachers aide therefore has lots of experience. Know your child is in very safe hands.
Ms. Yaya is an amazing early childhood educator. She is professional, reliable, communicative, and kind. My daughter lights up at the mention of her name. She gives the children structure, but is gentle. She challenges them and encourages them and there is no one I would trust more with my child’s care and education.
My gratitude is beyond words for Ms. Yadiras DayCare. It is a welcoming environment that provides safe sleep practices, feeding routine, clean space, and age- appropriate activities. Most of all it also offers a positive/nurturing/social interactions between children. I highly recommend her services!!
Miss Yaya has been wonderful with my child. I used to drop my little one and be worry free because I knew she was well taken care of. My daughter had so much fun with her and misses her very much, already! We love Miss Yaya!
Ms. Yaya was and is the best. She is so welcoming and all the kids love her. She treats them like they are her own. Trust and believe your child will be in great hands.
Amazing! Great communication skills & always so accommodating. Very loving and caring with my son. Overall great experience! Wish she was still my sons teacher :(
Best daycare, she is so clean I can trust her home.
Daycare rates depend on how old your child will be and what your schedule looks like. 5 days / week might get a slight discount, and infant rates are usually more than toddlers’. Finding a spot also depends on age and schedule because each daycare has a limited number of openings for each age range.

Your family is unique to you, but some of your questions might not be. 😉 Here’s what most parents want to know when starting out.
Most first-time parents don’t know exactly what they’re looking for, so we created a simple survey that will ask you questions about your lifestyle, your daily routines, and your preferences for child care. We’ll then share 3 personalized recommendations that we think might be a good fit. We’ll also give you a timeline that maps out when we would suggest you start touring programs, choose a daycare, and pay a deposit to secure a spot. Your timeline is based on when you want to start care - so you set the pace, and you decide when you’ve found the right match.
Nope. Our daycare recommendation service is free for parents. The other half of our business is helping these small-scale daycares with software and services that handle all their administrative tasks, like online contracting, payment processing, and licensing requirements. Before NeighborSchools, services like these were only designed for large corporate child care centers, and part of our mission is to level the playing field for small, independent child care programs. That’s why we picked the name NeighborSchools - we’re all about making child care more personal, more human, and more equitable for the incredible individuals who do this work and care for our children.
Generally, if you’re here, you’re ready. The survey lets us give you 3 recommendations to consider, but it’ll also help you better understand what factors to consider, and what questions to be asking right now. It’s simple things like where you live, your child’s date of birth, when you want to start care, and if you have any preferences around program philosophy or language of instruction. If you’re planning 6+ months ahead, it’s a great way to get started, and if you’re hoping to start daycare in the next 2-4 months, it’s definitely time to get started. Click here to start the survey.
Each program has a limited number of spots for each age range, so we need to know your schedule and child’s age before we can share availability. The survey covers these basics, as well as factors like drop-off and pick-up times to make sure that recommended programs fit your daily routine. Once we know your child’s age and schedule we can share rates and costs as well.
We’re online Monday - Friday from 8am to 6pm Eastern.
